Here are basic rules & FAQ of TCF that moderators are to enforce. Please remember that these rules aren't absolute, in the end its all based on that particular mod's judgment (MJ). Based on that Mod's particular judgment a thread could be locked, moved, deleted, edited as so on. Best way to resolve these issues is to pm the mod of that forum if u think something was done unjustly.
TCF Staff
The staff has the right to amend these rules at any time. An announcement will be put up announcing the change. If you have any questions, feel free to contact any staff member.
- Offensive post of any kind will not be tolerated.
- No post bashing of a person's religion, race, sexual preference, etc.
Well this one is a no brainer people i think the saying is "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all."
- Bashing will not be tolerated
Example: User #1: I hate pokeman. If u do too, post here. Die pokeman Die
User #2: I hate pokemon almost as much as i Hate kikyo. I hope she goes to hell.
Those are 2 examples of what not to do. If u feel u must do something like this please post some reasons for why u feel the way you do. Again this is all based on the mods judgement (MJ).
- No repeat threads or double posting is allowed
double posting is when you post twice in a row. for instance:
Post 1: Hi! My name is Nicole! and I love Inuyasha!
Post 2: PS: my email is lrgjrlegj@lrjrh.com! email me if you love Inuyasha!
additional information can be added via the edit button on the lower right corner of the post box.
This also based on MJ. Example: "Favorite funny moments" and "What was the funniest episode" Those 2 threads are basically the same but worded differently.
- SPAM = Bad
Example: User #5: When i first heard of Scrapped princess i thought it was stupid anime. But after watching the first couple episodes its become one of my favorite animes.
User #6: Me2
That is a basic example of what spam is. User #6's post was pointless and added nothing to the discussion. Again this is all based on MJ.
- Spoilers
It's not suggested to post huge spoilers. But if u must PLEASE GIVE A WARNING. Not everyone likes to things ruined for them. And threads to discuse events later in a series should read.
Example: The End of Evangelion *Spoiler*
- Piracy
Piracy is the unauthorized distribution of materials ranging from software to games, tv, to movies. The spectrum is broad, essentially no warez, no cracks, no linking to websites that promote it. Illegal.
- Language filters
No dodging the language filters and no links to curses, basically no curses in any form. While we might let you get away with the occasional 'butt' or 'damn', please keep the language appropriate for the age groups.
- Extra Rules
Some forums have forum specific rules. They will be posted in the specific board. These general forum rules are also in effect for all forums.
- Plagiarizing
This is illegal. If you are caught, the thread will be locked, and warnings and/or bans will happen.
- Post Limits
Threads will be locked at 300 posts. Feel free to start another thread to continue your discussion.
- Warning System
The warning system is set up to where if you get 5 violations, which you get banned. But, depending on the severity of the situation, you might get banned immediately.
- Changing your Username
In order to change your name, you must go into your profile and click "Edit Profile." Next, you go to the box that says "Display Name." Enter your desired name, and then save at the bottom. REMEMBER that the username that you registered with is ALWAYS going to be the one you log in with, even after you change it.
- Reporting a Moderator
Oh my! I feel that a moderator has acted unfairly. What shall I do?
If you feel that a moderator has taken inappropriate action, there is a set procedure you can take to resolve this issue. Creating a thread about the problem in public is not the proper procedure and will result in the thread being locked, and a warning increase for established members who should know the rules.
1) Send a PM to the moderator that you believe has acted unfairly. State your case in clear, polite terms. See if you can resolve the issue with this moderator first. If you do not know which moderator to message, you can send your message to any moderator who is online.
2) If you can not resolve the issue with the moderator in question, you may then contact one Global Moderator to state your case. Your complaint will be posted on the staff only board for review by other staff members. Once a final decision has been made regarding the situation, you will be informed via PM.
3) If you have a complaint regarding the actions or decisions of a Global Moderator, you can send those complaints to trueboredom or another Administrator. As with the other messages, please be clear and to the point.
